After I arrived at the wedding, we joined our colleagues and enjoyed the delicious food. The atmosphere was lively, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. As the music shifted to slower, more romantic tunes, couples began to pair off and take to the dance floor. I was still debating in my head about my next steps.

After the second song, I finally mustered the courage to ask Bella to dance. She smiled and accepted, and we made our way to the dance floor. With my hand on her waist and guiding her effortlessly, every step was perfectly in sync with hers. It felt natural, almost magical, as we moved together.

Everything was going smoothly until the bride threw the bouquet. In the flurry of excitement, Bella suddenly ran off, and I lost sight of her. Concerned, I went to look for her, but just as I was about to leave, the manager stopped me.

“Jay, I wanted to congratulate you for your great efforts,” he said, beaming with pride. “Your suggestions were fantastic, and Bella’s views have been a breath of fresh air for the company. I’m thrilled about the upcoming Monday. We are implementing a lot of your ideas, and I can already see a positive shift in the team’s morale.”

I tried to focus on the conversation, forcing a smile as I nodded politely. “Thank you, sir. I’m glad to hear that,” I said, but my mind was elsewhere. My eyes kept scanning the room for Bella, my thoughts racing. Where could she have gone? Why did she leave so abruptly?

The manager continued talking, praising my contributions and expressing his excitement for the future, but I could barely process his words. I kept glancing around, feeling a growing sense of urgency. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw her. She was standing at the door, looking stunned and in disbelief.

Her expression was a mix of confusion and hurt, and my heart sank. I needed to get to her, explain everything, and make sure she understood. I couldn’t let her walk away, not like this.

“Excuse me, sir,” I interrupted, my voice tinged with desperation. “I appreciate your kind words, but I need to go.”

Before the manager could respond, I turned and made my way towards the door. Bella had already stepped outside, and I hurried to catch up with her. All that mattered was reaching her.

“Where are you leaving, Bella” I called out, my voice barely audible over the sound of the traffic. She was about to get into a cab when I finally caught up to her and grabbed her hand.

She turned to face me, her eyes wide with emotion. “Home!” she said, her voice trembling.

“Don’t leave, because I…” I said, struggling to find the right words.

For a moment, we stood there in the dimly lit street, the sounds of the wedding fading into the background. I could see the hurt and confusion in her eyes, and I knew this was a pivotal moment.

As I approached Bella, my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. There is a rawness about her that many don’t understand. She is chaos in the wind and fire across the sky. Not everyone can appreciate the beauty of a storm, but standing here, watching her, I knew I was one of the few who could see it.

Bella’s unpredictability, her energy, her passion—these were things that had initially thrown me off balance. But now, they were the very qualities that drew me to her. She embodied a kind of wild freedom that I had never known, a freedom that both fascinated and terrified me.

Seeing her now, about to disappear into the night, I realized just how much I didn’t want to lose that chaos, that fire. The world often tries to tame such storms, to smooth out the rough edges and quiet the noise, but in doing so, it loses something precious. Bella was that storm, a beautiful, untamed force of nature that brought light and life to everything she touched.

I couldn’t let her go. Not now. Not when I was starting to understand just how much she meant to me. As I caught up to her and grabbed her hand, I felt a desperate need to hold onto that storm, to embrace the chaos and see where it could lead us.

“What happened?” I called out, my voice filled with urgency.

Her eyes, wide with emotion, met mine, and I saw the raw, unfiltered essence of her soul. There was no hiding, no pretense—just pure, unadulterated Bella.

She looked down, her shoulders shaking slightly as she took a deep breath, and then she poured out her soul harder than the rain poured on the streets. Unfiltered and honest, she told me everything she felt. I stood there, taking in every word, knowing that I deserved it. Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. I had no idea she had been feeling this way. Bella had always seemed so strong, so resilient, but now I could see the cracks in her armor, the vulnerability she had been hiding. I couldn’t say a word, just listened as she talked and talked, each sentence breaking my heart a little more. I wanted to reach out, to hold her and tell her everything would be okay, but I knew she needed to get this out, needed to let go of the weight she had been carrying.
