“I’ve told you the four thunderstorms – disappointment, frustration, unfairness and isolation. You cannot avoid them, as like the monsoon they will come into your life at regular intervals. You just need to keep the raincoat handy to not let the spark die”― Chetan Bhagat

Many times, I found myself in isolation, separated from friends and family, burdened with dark thoughts and disappointment in my soul. I attempted many things but often failed, and there were moments when I wanted to give up or had no choice but to let go. Shocking news would hit me out of nowhere, and my first instinct was to reject it entirely. The feelings of loss and disappointment were overwhelming, and depression seemed to lurk just around the corner.

Despite the devastation, I knew I couldn’t stay defeated. I had to rebuild from the ruins, creating an empire even bigger and stronger than before, using nothing but my bare hands. It was a test of my skills, and I was determined to rise again.

I remembered that time began with the BIG BANG, the fire was discovered using two stones, and after a volcano, life could emerge from bare rocks. These examples showed that from nothing, great things could emerge. Like a spark igniting a whole forest, I believed that a single glimmer of hope could make a significant difference in my life.

I chose to trust the Universe and knew that as long as I didn’t choose to remain defeated, it wouldn’t let me down. With that mindset, I rose from the ashes and refused to be held back by past failures or setbacks. I embraced the power of hope, and it became my driving force in moving forward and creating a new path for myself.

“Certein bodies… become luminous when heated. Their luminosity disappears after some time, but the capacity of becoming luminous afresh through heat is restored to them by the action of a spark, and also by the action of radium.”― Marie Curie

In my life on Earth, I let nature’s examples guide me through my writings and experiences. This time, I wanted to find a model from nature that would resonate with me. I observed how a dried bean wouldn’t sprout until favourable conditions arrived. Similarly, some animals went into hibernation, aestivation, or torpor until the right circumstances allowed them to resume their lives.

Plants and animals needed a sign, a trigger to let them know that it was safe to grow and carry on with their natural behaviours. A dried seed only required a spark of light or warmth to begin its journey towards growth. It made me realize that we, as humans, also had everything we needed within ourselves to grow and succeed. All we required was a spark of hope that could never truly die.

During times when everything seemed to be falling apart, I thought I had lost hope. But there was something within me, like a tiny spark, that reminded me that as long as I was alive, nothing was truly lost. My body stood strong like a temple, holding the combustible potential, and my mind was the spark that could ignite everything I could possibly achieve, even when it seemed like nothing mattered anymore.

“I knew that I was dying.

Something in me said,

Go ahead, die, sleep, become as them, accept.

Then something else in me said, no,

save the tiniest bit.

It needn’t be much, just a spark.

A spark can set a whole forest on fire.

Just a spark.

Save it.”

― Charles Bukowski, The Last Night of the Earth Poems

There is always a choice, and it was always up to me to decide which way I should go, what is best for me or just to conceive and give up. When I lost everything it was shocking in the beginning but later on, after acknowledging new opportunities it was easier to decide what I had to do. Like an empty room that you need to be redecorated after everything disappeared overnight, a brand new life and a new chance were unfolding in front of me. One spark, one dream, a wish, and one hope made everything possible. It would be funny to say that, but in the end, I had a very tasty chicken soup. In the beginning, everything was lost, and then I had to start all over again, growing and chopping the vegetables and the chicken. Everything was ready but was nowhere to find a fire, and that took time also to get everything ready. One spark, the wood burned and everything started to taste and in the end, one big bowl of chicken soup was ready to fill up the hungry and empty stomach. The same happens with an empty and hungry soul that needs to be filled with nutritious things. For that, I had days of meditation and praying, long walks in nature, friends, and family for support, and a lot of patience that took over my whole loss and failures.

“You have to find what sparks a light in you so that you in your own way can illuminate the world.”
― Oprah Winfrey

The influence I had from others saved me before, and today I return everything I know for you. Many days I dreamed that one day my story would be a survival kit for someone that goes through the same as me and sharing good vibes and understanding might light the spark in someone else. I needed examples and true stories to realise I was not the only one going through hard times, but today I am here grateful and happy for everything I could overcome. I surrounded myself with kind people and understanding friends that have been there for me when I needed them the most and I learned a lesson from every experience I had. Today is your time to move on and leave behind whatever doesn’t serve you. As long you keep that spark in you, always your life would be filled up with hope and your soul would never be left empty and hungry.
