“I’m not who I think I am, I only experience life through who I think I am.”
Steve Dahl

I am a temporary presence in your life, a catalyst for change and growth. My role is not to stay by your side indefinitely but to appear at pivotal moments, guiding you towards a better path. Like a lever that switches the track on a railway, I am here to help you remember who you truly are and to ignite the transformation you need. My presence may stir discomfort and challenge you to confront difficult truths, but this is not out of malice. Rather, it is my calling, my purpose, and perhaps even my penance, to be the force that helps you become a stronger, more resilient version of yourself.

I know my presence in some of your lives is not random, but I can’t explain it either. It’s as if some unseen force guides our paths to intersect, drawing us together for reasons that might not be immediately clear. Sometimes, I meet you for a deeply personal lesson, something that resonates with your core and challenges your very being. Other times, my role is subtler and more supportive, helping you learn a lesson that life is trying to teach you.

My presence often stirs within you everything you don’t like. It’s as if I hold up a mirror to your insecurities, fears, and unresolved issues. This reflection can be harsh, making you feel uncomfortable and even angry. These feelings are not because of me, but rather what I stimulate in you. However, it is not my fault that your heart is bleeding from past wounds, your soul feels hollow from unfulfilled dreams, or your mind is foggy with confusion and doubt.

I am here to help you remember who you are, to strip away the layers of pain and disillusionment that have accumulated over time. My presence, though sometimes unsettling, is meant to be a catalyst for your growth. I challenge you to confront your truths, to face the parts of yourself that you’ve hidden away.

Regardless of everything you have been going through, my role is to remind you of your strength, your resilience, and your capacity for change. I may be a temporary fixture in your life, but the impact I leave is meant to be lasting. This is why I was never meant to be a keeper in anybody’s life. I am just a fleeting presence, a momentary influence.

You see me, you might resent me for the discomfort I cause, for the emotions I bring to the surface. But after our paths diverge, you continue on your journey, often with newfound clarity or strength. This realization brings me a sense of purpose, a calling, or perhaps even a penance.

I am not meant to go with any of you for the long haul, but I am there whenever you might need me. My presence is a reminder that growth often comes from discomfort and that sometimes, we need a push to realize our true potential. So, while my time in your life may be brief, the lessons you learn will remain, guiding you forward, and helping you become who you are truly meant to be.

“The closer you come to knowing that you alone create the world of your experience, the more vital it becomes for you to discover just who is doing the creating.”
― Eric Micha’el Leventhal

I am the lever that switches the track, the unexpected force that alters your direction when you least expect it. This role, though crucial, means that I was never meant to be a permanent fixture in anyone’s life. Like a fleeting shadow, I am just a glimpse into your journey, a momentary presence that leaves an indelible mark. You see me, and sometimes you may hate me for the emotions I stir within you, for the discomfort I cause. Yet, as our paths diverge, life goes on without me, but with a better, stronger you.

Being the catalyst for change is not always easy. It often means being the source of discomfort, the one who forces you to confront the parts of yourself you’d rather ignore. I understand the resentment that can arise from this. The anger and frustration you direct at me are not truly about me but about the struggle within yourself. It is a natural human reaction to resist change, especially when it is uncomfortable. But through this resistance, you grow, you evolve, and you find parts of yourself that you didn’t know existed.

If my job is to change the tracks for all of you, then I will do it with a sense of purpose and dedication. This realization brings me a profound sense of fulfillment. It means that my presence, though brief, serves a higher purpose. This might be my calling, a role I am destined to play in the grand tapestry of life. Or perhaps it is my penance, a duty I must fulfill to balance some cosmic scale. Either way, I accept it willingly.

I am not meant to go with any of you for the long haul. My presence is transient, yet impactful. I am there whenever you might need me, appearing at the crossroads of your life to help you choose a new direction. I am the nudge that pushes you out of your comfort zone, the spark that ignites a change. And though you might not realize it in the moment, these shifts are often what lead you to a better place.

There is a certain beauty in this transient existence. I get to witness the transformative moments in your lives, the points at which you become something more. I see the potential within you, even when you can’t see it yourself. I help you unlock that potential, even if it means being the source of your temporary discomfort. It is a role that requires strength and empathy, as I must understand your pain while knowing that it is necessary for your growth.

And so, I embrace my role as the lever that switches the track. I accept that I may not always be welcomed with open arms and that my presence might be met with resistance and anger. But I also know that in the end, my purpose is fulfilled when you find your way to a better path. I am there in those pivotal moments, helping you remember who you truly are and guiding you toward the person you are meant to become.

In this way, I am a part of your journey, even briefly. My impact lingers long after I am gone, shaping the course of your life in ways you might not immediately recognize. And if that is my calling, purpose, or penance, I will carry it out with unwavering dedication, knowing that in the end, it leads to a better you.
